What is Penicillin Crystallized TZF and what it is used for
Penicillin Crystallite TZF contains the active substance benzylpenicillin, which is a natural penicillin. Benzylpenicillin is a bactericidal agent against many gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.

Penicillin Crystallized TZF is indicated for the treatment of the following severe infections caused by benzylpenicillin-susceptible bacteria:

Tonsillitis, pneumonia, bronchitis, pericarditis, chronic endocarditis caused by streptococci (including group A), pneumococci, staphylococci;
Septicemia;
Meningococcal meningitis;
Skin and soft tissue infections;
Diphtheria (in combination with an antitoxin);
Empyme;
Erysipel;
Acute rheumatic fever caused by streptococcal infection, arthritis;
Osteomyelitis;
Acquired or congenital syphilis;
Gonorrhea;
Infections of the genital tract caused by Fusobacterium spp .;
Mushroom poisoning (Amanita phalloides);
Anthrax, Lyme disease, infections due to Clostridium spp. (including tetanus), listeriosis, pasteurellosis, actinomycosis.
2. What you need to know before using Penicillin Crystallized TZF
Do not use Penicillin Crystallized TZF:

if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to penicillin or other beta-lactam antibiotics.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine if any of the following applies to you:

Allergic reaction to some antibiotic in the past.
Another allergic reaction in the past. Penicillin hypersensitivity reactions may occur more often in people who are prone to allergic reactions to different substances. These reactions may vary in symptoms and severity, from skin lesions to anaphylactic shock (severe allergic reaction) - see section 4 "Possible side effects".
Diagnosed kidney and / or cardiac disease.
You should contact your doctor immediately if you develop the following symptoms in relation to the use of the medicine:

Severe or prolonged diarrhea during or after penicillin treatment may be a symptom of pseudomembranous colitis, a complication associated with the use of antibiotics; You should not take any medications that inhibit peristalsis or other bruising medicines, but instead contact a doctor who will prescribe appropriate treatment.

Other Drugs and Penicillin Crystallize TZF
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

You should tell your doctor, especially if you use any of the following:

Probenecid (a medicine used to treat gout);
Other antibiotics with bacteriostatic action (eg chloramphenicol, erythromycin, sulfonamides);

Pregnancy

How to Use Penicillin Crystallized TZF
Always use Penicillin Crystallized TZF exactly as your doctor has told you. Consult your doctor if you are not sure.
Penicillin Crystallized TZF is administered by a doctor or nurse.
The dose depends on the severity of the infection, the type of the infective agent and the age and weight of the patient.
1 million IU of benzylpenicillin potassium correspond to 600 mg.

Adults
The usual dose is 5 million IU every 4 to 6 hours.
In severe infections, a doctor may increase the dose to 20 million IU or more daily.

Children

Children up to 3 years of age: 50,000 to 80,000 IU / kg / day, divided into 2 to 4 doses (every 12-6 hours), intramuscularly or intravenously.
Children aged 3 to 14: 90,000 to 1,200,000 IU / kg / day, divided into 2 to 4 doses (every 12-6 hours), intramuscularly or intravenously.
Children with fever and fetishes: 250,000 IU / kg / day, divided into 4 to 6 doses, intravenously.

If you take more Penicillin Crystallized TZF than you should
Since Penicillin Crystallized TZF will be given to you by a doctor or nurse, administration of an inappropriate dose is very unlikely. If you forget to use Penicillin Crystallized TZF
Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

If you stop using Penicillin Crystallized TZF

disturbed heart rhythm;
renal dysfunction (predominantly in patients receiving high intravenous doses of the drug or in patients with pre-existing renal dysfunction).
The following side effects occur with an unknown frequency:

Jarish-Herxheimer's reaction may develop in patients in the course of treatment of syphilis; its symptoms are fever, malaise and headache;
candidiasis (fungal infection) of the skin and mucous membranes;
hyperactivity, agitation, anxiety, drowsiness, confusion, dizziness
How to Keep Penicillin Crystallized TZF
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Store below 25 ° C. Keep away from light.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
