WHAT IS AMLOTERON AND WHAT TO USE
Amlodipine belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel antagonists. Amlodipine is used to treat:
high blood pressure;
chest pain due to the narrowing of the coronary arteries of the heart muscle (angina pectoris angina) or more rare form of chest pain caused by spasm of the coronary arteries of the heart muscle (a vasospastic angina).
If you suffer from high blood pressure, AMLOTERON acts as widens the blood vessels so that blood passes through them more easily.
If you suffer from angina, AMLOTERON acts as the delivery of the blood improves heart muscle that receives more oxygen, and as a result prevent the onset of chest pain. Amlodipine has no immediate effect in relieving chest pain from angina.
