What Glicka MR tablets and what it is used
Glick MR tablet belongs to the group etc. oral antidiabetic drugs (blood glucose lowering). It contains the active substance gliclazide.
Glicka MR tablets are recommended for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when administered alone corrected diet, physical exercise and reductions in body weight are not enough to maintain normal blood glucose values.
2. What you need to know before taking glycan MR tablets
Do not take Glicka MR tablets:
if you are allergic to glycans MR tablets or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in Section 6);
if you are allergic to sulfonylureas, or similar drugs;
suffer from diabetes complicated by ketosis or acidosis;
suffer from insulin-dependent type 1 diabetes;
If you suffer from severe kidney or liver problems;
if you are currently taking medicines to treat fungal infections (miconazole);
if breast feeding (see section 4.6).
This medicine is not recommended for the treatment of diabetes in children.
Warnings and Precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Glicka MR tablets.
During treatment with glycans MR tablets require regular blood glucose (and optionally the sugar in the urine), and glycated hemoglobin, if necessary.
Like all sulphonylureas, Glick MR tablets can cause Moderate or severe hypoglycaemia, especially under the following conditions:
in patients who are controlled by diet alone;
in cases of accidental overdose;
an insufficient intake of calories or glucose;
in patients with hepatic and / or renal impairment;
if you are malnourished;
if you drink alcohol, especially in combination with skipped meals;
if you take other medicines or natural remedies at the same time;
if you have a specific hormone-dependent diseases.
If you have low blood sugar, you may experience the following symptoms: headache, intense hunger, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, sleep disorders, agitation, aggression, poor concentration, reduced alertness and slowed reactions, depression, confusion, impairment of vision or speech , tremor (shaking), sensory disturbances, dizziness, feeling of powerlessness. May occur following symptoms: sweating, clammy skin, anxiety, fast or irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, sudden severe chest pain that may radiate to neighboring areas.
If blood sugar levels continue to fall, you can fall into a state of severe confusion, to develop convulsions, lose self control, your breathing may be shallow and your heart beat to slow down, may become unconscious.
In most cases the symptoms of low blood sugar vanish very quickly when you consume 15-20 grams of sugar or carbohydrates in any form. For this reason, you should always carry some form of sugar. Other drugs and glycans MR tablets
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, you have recently taken or might take any other medicines
salicylates (including aspirin), used to relieve pain;
sulfonamide drugs (to treat infection);
coumarin anticoagulants include warfarin (used for increased blood clotting);
monoamine oxidase inhibitors, known as MAO inhibitors (for treating depression);

Medicines phenylbutazone (for the treatment of arthritis), chloramphenicol (an antibiotic to treat infections), clofibrate (with increased levels of cholesterol), disopyramide (used to treat abnormal or rapid heart rhythms), miconazole (when taken orally to treat fungal infections), cimetidine (used to treat stomach ulcers), thyroid hormones (in diseases of the thyroid gland);
Tell your doctor if you too often use laxatives.
Glicka MR tablets 30 mg may increase the effects of drugs that inhibit blood clotting
Glicka MR tablets with food, beverages and alcohol
It is possible, as in the use of all anti-diabetes medicines, your blood sugar to drop too low (a condition known as hypoglycemia). This is more likely to happen if food intake is limited, you have impaired liver or kidney function if you are elderly or accidental overdose your medicine.
Pregnancy, lactation and fertility

Driving and using machines

3. How to take Glicka MR tablets

Glick MR tablets should be swallowed with a glass of water. Take the medicine at the same time each day.
The usual daily dose of glycans MR tablet ranges from 30 mg to 120 mg (1-4 tablets), as the dose requirements are adjusted according to the response of the individual patient, and the blood sugar level. Take once during breakfast.
Adults elderly patients
The initial daily dose is 30-120 mg (1-4 tablets). This dose may be increased gradually by your doctor to achieve adequate control of blood sugar. A single dose should not exceed 120 mg (4 tablets). If you also need a higher dose, the tablets should be taken two times a day with meals during the day.
If you take more than the amount of glycans MR tablets
If you take more tablets than you should immediately seek medical assistance, contact your doctor or hospital emergency room. Overdose of glycans MR tablets can cause hypoglycemia (low blood glucose). Clinical manifestations include weakness, headache, sweating, intense hunger, fast heartbeat, shortness of breath, tremors, visual disturbances, loss of muscle coordination or concern. If you forget to take Glicka MR tablets

Possible side effects
As with all drugs, Glicka MR tablets can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. Tell your doctor if you notice any of these symptoms after the adoption of glycans MR tablets:
hypoglycemia manifested by the following clinical symptoms - weakness, headache, sweating, excessive hunger, increased heart rate, shortness of breath, tremor, visual disturbance, loss of muscle coordination, restlessness;
impaired liver function and rare hepatic failure, hepatitis, jaundice (yellowing of the conjunctiva of the eyes);
gastrointestinal problems such as nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation (can be avoided if they are taken during a meal);
skin rashes, itching;
anemia, abnormal subcutaneous bruising, bleeding;
signs of infection (sore throat or temperature);
Eye disorders - your vision may be affected for a short time, especially in early treatment. This effect is due to changes in blood glucose levels.
Upon acceptance of the sulphonylureas, cases of severe changes in the number of blood cells and allergic inflammation of the wall of blood vessels. They were observed and symptoms of hepatic impairment e. jaundice, which in most cases disappeared after withdrawal of the sulphonylureas, but may lead to life-threatening liver disease in an individual case.
