WHAT TOBRADEX eye ointment AND WHAT IT IS USED
TOBRADEX eye ointment is a corticosteroid anti-inflammatory combination.
Corticosteroids (dexamethasone in this case) to prevent or reduce inflammation in the eye. Anti-inflammatory agents (tobramycin in this case) are effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms that may infect the eye (s).
TOBRADEX eye ointment is used to prevent and treat eye inflammation and to prevent possible infection of the eye after cataract surgery (ie. Cataract) in adults and children over 2 years.
2 BEFORE USING TOBRADEX eye ointment
Do not use eye ointment TOBRADEX:
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to tobramycin, and / or dexamethasone, or any of the other ingredients of TOBRADEX eye ointment.
if you suspect that you have:
infection in the eye;
epithelial herpes simplex keratitis, smallpox (variola), chickenpox, or a viral infection of the eye;
tuberculosis of the eye;
fungal infections of the eye.
Take special care with TOBRADEX eye ointment:
Use TOBRADEX eye ointment for your eyes.
If you get allergic reactions such as itching, eyelid swelling or redness of the eye, discontinue use of the product and consult your doctor. Such allergic sensitization is possible to obtain with the use of other antibiotics (aminoglycosides) for local or systemic administration.
If your symptoms worsen or suddenly resume, please contact your doctor.
Consult your doctor if you use other antibiotics, including oral, together with the use of TOBRADEX eye ointment.

become more susceptible to eye infections;

Using other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

3 HOW TO USE TOBRADEX eye ointment
Always use TOBRADEX eye ointment exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The usual dose for adults and children over 2 years, a small amount (strip a length of approximately 1,5 cm) in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye (s) three to four times daily. The duration of treatment is at the discretion of your doctor.
Use TOBRADEX eye ointment for your eyes only.
Take 1 tube TOBRADEX eye ointment and mirror.
2 Wash your hands.
3 Unscrew the cap.
4 Hold tube between thumb and forefinger.
5 Tilt your head back. Pull down your eyelid with a clean finger, until there is a 'pocket' between the eyelid and your eye. Strip ointment should go in this place.
6 Bring the tip of the tube close to the eye. Use the mirror if it helps.
7 Do not touch your eye or eyelid, surrounding areas or other surfaces with the tip. This may contaminate the product.
8 Gently squeeze the tube to release strip of ointment for the eyes.
9 Once the TOBRADEX eye ointment, run eyelid blink a few times to ensure that the product is covered the entire surface of the eye. Gently close the eye (s) for a few seconds; It is necessary to prevent TOBRADEX eye ointment to move to other parts of the body.
10 If you need to put TOBRADEX eye ointment in both eyes, repeat the steps for the other eye.
11. Close the tube immediately after use.
12 Use only the same tube.
If TOBRADEX eye ointment misses your eye, try again.
If you forget to put TOBRADEX eye ointment, continue with the next dose at your regular routine. However, if it is time for your next dose, skip the missed one and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you use more than the required amount TOBRADEX eye ointment rinse with warm water. Do not put more until it comes time for your next regular dose.

4 POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, TOBRADEX eye ointment can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following adverse reactions have been observed in TOBRADEX eye drops:
Uncommon side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 1000):
Effects in the eye: increased pressure in the eye / eye, eye pain, eye pruritus, eye discomfort, eye irritation, increased slazeotdelyane, eyelid swelling, eyelid itching, inflammation of the ocular surface.
Rare side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000):
Effects in the eye: allergy, blurred vision, dry eye, abnormal sensation in the eye, eye irritation, redness;
General effects: bad taste.

Effects in the eye: increase the size of the pupil;
General effects: headache, nausea, stomach upset, rash, skin irritation, redness or itching, swelling of the face.

5 HOW TO STORE TOBRADEX eye ointment
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the bottle and carton (marked as "EXP").
Do not store above 25 ° C. Do not freeze.
The tube should be discarded four weeks after first opening to prevent infections.
