TOBREX eye ointment is the group of medicines called anti-inflammatory. This group includes antibiotics (tobramycin in this case), which are effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms that may infect the eye (s).
TOBREX eye ointment is used to treat external bacterial infections of the eye (s) and surrounding areas for adults and children over 1 year old.

2. BEFORE YOU USE TOBREX eye ointment
Do not use TOBREX eye ointment:
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to tobramycin or any of the other ingredients of TOBREX eye ointment.
Take special care with TOBREX eye ointment:
Use TOBREX ointment for your eyes;
if you experience allergic reactions such as itching in the eyelid, swelling or redness of the eye, discontinue use of the product and consult your doctor. Such allergic sensitization may occur in the use of other aminoglycoside antibiotics for the topical or systemic administration;
ask your doctor if you are using another antibiotic treatment simultaneously TOBREX eye ointment;
if your symptoms worsen or suddenly resume, please consult your doctor. If you use TOBREX eye ointment long, you can become susceptible to eye infections;
If you wear contact lenses:
wearing contact lenses (hard or soft) is not recommended during the treatment of ocular inflammation.
Eye ointment can slow the healing of eye wounds;
if you are taking other medicines, please also read section "Using other medicines" of this leaflet.
Using other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or have recently used other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Pregnancy and lactation
Ask your doctor before taking any medicine.
If you are pregnant or might become pregnant, or are breast-feeding, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.

Driving and using machines
It is possible immediately after insertion of TOBREX eye ointment may find that your vision is blurred. Wait until your vision is clear and only then drive or operate machinery.

3. HOW TO USE TOBREX eye ointment
Always use TOBREX eye ointment exactly as you have been told by your doctor. If you're not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Use TOBREX eye ointment for your eyes only.

Adults and children over 1 year old:
In mild to moderate disease states, the usual dose is small amount (strip length of approximately 1,5 cm) of the medicinal product in the affected eye (s) two or three times daily.
In severe disease states, the usual dose is small amount (strip length of approximately 1,5 cm) of the medicinal product in the affected eye (s) every three to four hours during the first two days, and then two or three times daily until the pass infection.
TOBREX eye ointment can be administered simultaneously in the evening TOBREX eye drops solution during the day.
The usual duration of treatment is 7-10 days. The duration of treatment is at the discretion of your physician.

1. Take the tube TOBREX and mirror.
2. Wash your hands.
H. Unscrew the cap.
4. Hold the tube between your thumb and forefinger.
5. Tilt your head back. Pull down your eyelid with a clean finger, so that it forms a 'pocket' between him and the eye. Strip ointment should go in this place.

7. Do not touch your eye or eyelid, surrounding areas or other surfaces with the tip. This may contaminate the product.
8. Gently squeeze the tube to release TOBREX strip of eye ointment.
9. Once the TOBREX eye ointment, run eyelid blink a few times to ensure that the medicinal product has covered the entire surface of the eye. Gently close the eye (s) for a few seconds; it is necessary to prevent TOBREX to move to other parts of the body.
10. If you need to put TOBREX eye ointment in both eyes, repeat the steps for your other eye.
11. Close the tube immediately after use.
12. Use only a single tube.

If TOBREKS eye ointment misses your eye, try again.

If you have inserted more than the required amount TOBREX eye ointment, rinse the eye / eye with lukewarm water. Symptoms of overdose may include eye irritation, eye redness, eye swelling and itching of the eyelid.

If you forget to put TOBREX eye ointment, continue with the next dose as planned. However, if it's time for your next dose, skip the missed and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you use other medicines for eyes (drops or ointment), wait 5 minutes between each of them by placing TOBREX eye ointment last.

Like all medicines, TOBREX eye ointment can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following adverse reactions have been reported with the use of TOBREKS eye ointment:
Common side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 100):
Effects in the eye: eye discomfort, redness of the eye, damage to the eye.
Uncommon side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 1000):
Effects in the eye: eye surface inflammation, damage to the cornea, visual impairment, blurred vision, redness of the eyelids, swelling of the eye and eyelids, eyelid disorder, eye pain, dry eye, eye discharge, eye pruritus, abnormal sensation (foreign body) in the eye, increased slazeotdelyane;
Effects associated with whole body: allergy (hypersensitivity), headache, rash, skin irritation, decreased growth or number of eyelashes, loss of pigmentation of the skin, itching, dry skin.
Reactions not known (can not be estimated from available data):
Effects in the eye: eye allergy, eye irritation, itching of the eyelid;
Effects associated with whole body: rash.
You can usually carry on taking the ointment for the eyes, unless the effects are serious. If you're worried, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

If any of the side effects gets serious, or you notice other effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5. HOW TO STORE TOBREX eye ointment
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use TOBREX eye ointment after the expiry date stated on the tube and carton after "EXP". The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
The tube should be discarded 4 weeks after first opening to prevent infections.
Do not store above 25 ° C.
Do not freeze.
Store in a tightly closed container.
Medicines should not be disposed of in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

What TOBREX eye ointment
The active substance is tobramycin. One gram of ointment contains 3 mg tobramycin.
The other ingredients are anhydrous chlorobutanol, liquid paraffin and white petrolatum.
